The diversion is set in a world where a once-popular kids TV appear called “The Neighborly Neighborhood” all of a sudden vanishes after individuals lose intrigued. The puppets were fun, silly, and even a little helpful, but eventually, the studio shuts down, the toys stop selling, and everyone moves on. Years later, out of nowhere, the old show suddenly starts airing again. TVs all over the world flicker to life, and the puppets are back on screen but something about them is very wrong. They’re no longer friendly… and some of them look like they’re attacking each other.
To figure out what’s going on, the city sends a guy named Handyman Gordon to check out the signal. He shows up thinking he just needs to fix a broadcast tower, but once he gets inside the studio, things get creepy fast. The place is full of strange noises weird puzzles and puppets that are way too alive. As Gordon you explore the strange old set solve puzzles and fight off puppet enemies using unique weapons like the Rolodexer, which shoots out letters as ammo. The game doesn rely on heavy gore or jump scares instead it gives you that classic survival horror vibe but with a fun and weird twist. If you like horror but want something a little different, this game really hits the spot.
My Inviting Neighborhood blends activity astounds and investigation in a fun way. You investigate all sorts of places from backstage workshops to colorful colored pencil drawn lobbies. The inventory system uses a grid layout, making it feel more like old-school survival horror games, and every choice matters. Plus, after finishing the main story, you can jump into the “Neighborhorde” mode, where waves of puppets come at you in fast-paced action. It a strange creative game that stands out from typical horror titles giving you something spooky fun and totally unique without the need for over-the-top violence.
