While We Wait Here is an unusually interesting thriller tale — a diner that’s on the verge of being destroyed. The project is presented in the form of dialogues that you select—and there are three various endings—which make your journey interesting and unpredictable.
Everyday activities get disturbed by the sudden shock of an upcoming disaster. The constant doom surrounds your customers, and they all respond differently. Some are ignorant because they have other concerns closer to heart, others simply ignore and downplay even deny the approaching calamity. For some, they even see it as Karma giving them a taste of the medicine in their recent past. From inside the walls of your diner, you will get to engage in conversations; hear their stories, and give more than just food.
The real quandary in While We Wait Here is trying to decide if you can get all your customers into the safety of a shelter or they will instead think, why not have one last meal at this diner and meet their fate. The gameplay, which is situated in a psychological horror setting — revolves around the possibility of putting each customer’s plight to the right; affects many things. Walking through it is a meditative experience, where there are no “game over” screens, and what’s “right” or wrong remains infinitely more subjective. Every choice is one that you choose for yourself. Complete pre-and post-apocalypse first-person interaction, and many completely voiced support characters — without ever leaving the bar counter.
