BLADE CHIMERA takes place in a dystopian vision of Osaka — a city warped by the existence of evil. Monstrous beings, spawned from a strange event, roam the city. For thirty years, humankind has fought a total war against these monsters. The survivors take refuge in the Missa Association which is a religious organization, where they dedicate themselves to learning the arcane secrets of demon exorcism.

But the ghosts of a dying civilization linger somewhere below the neon pulse. Details like the cause behind the demon outbreak and the real reason for the Missa Association are still murky, but the video game presents a unique combination of a cyberpunk style with occult themes in a Metroidvania gameplay format. Players are tasked with discovering the hero’s history, learning new combat skills, and exploring the hauntingly beautiful, monster-infested Osaka city.
